ZEN-mini 2011 is ready for download… ISO is a little bit bigger than before because of new “big” xorg update.
News and changes:
- autologin to guest account with login info (livecd mode)
- changed grub, plymouth, gdm and wallpaper theme! Thanks to timeth and Archie for art work
- new kernel 2.6.38.8
- sound server is pulse – hope will work better than alsa
- added small image viewer
- installation from GRUB menu
- still with GNOME 2.32.1
Have to let all of you know that probably this is my last ZEN release and from next release ZEN-mini will be created by new person. I just don’t have enough time to do that…
Enjoy!

Dear master,
I would like to thank You for Yours hard work during creating PClinux OS with Gnome desktop environemnt. I have found this distribution very usable for administration tasks, aspecially because in The previous releases, which Textstar hhas been produced, user can choose, if want to login as root or guest user. But now, when You have been created first Gnome remasters, You have been disabled this. Can i login as root user or can i atleast login as root in live mode while working in Gnome-terminal? If Yes, how can i do this? I AM visually impaired so i must update packages by using apt-get update
as root And then i must type as root
apt-get install orca
Because without Orca, i would had to install Pclinux without screen reader support, and it is not good.
So please, how can i login as root in The live CD session while using Yours remasters?
By The way, Pclinux is ammazingly supporting installation to USB external harddrive directly, draklive binary module is good installer written by using C language.
I think, that You could include Orca package, it will not allocate more than 70 MB inside The sqs file of resulted .iso image.
It is not easy to install Orca from live CD if user will do this after many modules have been changed in The repository.

Hi.
To login as a root just on login screen (gdm) use that: login: root password: root this is on livecd. On hdd version password you seted up by yourself after installing but login is still root. It’s working 100%.
Sorry but orca is too big. I’m trying make ZEN as small as possible. why that I removed so many packages to give user choice what they want to use… It’s easy way to install it by apt or synaptic… what do you mean that many modules was change in the repository ?
Thanks for good words!

Działa bez zarzutów. Jestem zaskoczony. Graficznie bez zarzutów, nie korci mnie aby cokolwiek ustawiać i zmieniać. Pododawałem tylko programy. Martwi, że kolejne wydania będą na Gnome 3. Jest to moje pierwsze i chyba zarazem ostatnie ZEN.

Witam.

A Trinity w konwulsjach.
Pozdrawiam!
